Sunja’s Oriental Foods started in 1993 when Sunja began to give cooking classes in her community which was followed by a great interest in how Sunja prepared healthy food that tasted so good. Sunja realized that so many foods we eat contain chemical additives that we don’t need and was motivated to create all natural foods that the whole family could enjoy. These desires led her to develop a line of sauces that every home could use to prepare quick, easy and healthy meals using no chemical additives or preservatives. Also, as a native of Seoul, South Korea Sunja’s daily diet consisted of kimchi-a traditional Korean dish served at every meal. Not only did she learn to make delicious kimchi when she moved to Vermont in 1973, but was always a firm believer in the many health benefits that kimchi provides. Sunja wanted to share with everyone else what everyone in Korea already knew-that kimchi is a hidden treasure and is an important part of one’s daily diet. She wanted to introduce every home to Korea’s super food and thus Sunja’s Oriental Foods and Sunja’s Kimchi was born.
